So, at my local store there are like 16 WHFB players and being that I have a buttload of extra Eldar, I'm selling/trading alot off to get stuff for a second army. I'm trying to decide which fantasy army to go with and I'm stuck.
I've been looking on Scribd at the army books they have up and making army lists (an option or 2 I was looking at isn't available there). I came up with a couple of ideas but I'm not sure how viable anything is and need some opinions. These are 2k points lists just to get a basis.
#1 Bretonnian (normal knighty brets) - Stacked Lord for Grail Knights, Damsel 1 to be inserted into grail knights, Paladin to join Damsel 2 with the 7x knights. 9x errant knights, 6x and 7x knights of the realm, 7x grail knights, 3x pegasus knights, 5x yeomen, a trebuchet and 12 man skirmishing archer unit. Grail reliquae wasn't included in my list but I may sub one in just cause I like the idea of it.
#2 Lizardmen - I wasnt able to get access to a new book to plan an army out but the idea would be Slaan + full temple guard (possibly the temple guard hero), skink priest on stegadon, bunch of skirmishing skinks, kroxigor, salamander/razor pack or 2, possibly a brick of saurus cavalry or brick of warriors for tying units up.
#3 Dark Elf (cavalry focused) - dreadlord on cold one stacked, sorceress on cold one, master on steed, 2 dark rider units of 5x, 2 cold one units of 5x, 1 cold one unit of 7x for lord, hydra, bolt thrower, brick of 20x witch elves.
#4 High Elf (Dragon) - Prince on Moon Dragon, mage with dispels, noble with bsb on foot, 23x spearman joined by bsb and mage, 2x tiranoc chariot, 8x dragon princes, 5x dragon prince, 5x ellyrian reavers, 2x eagles.
Brett and Lizardman are seeming like the lists I want to do most, I love the elf models but they seem so damn fragile in game. I like cavalry as you can see or just magic lists. The only armies I've really discounted so far are Empire, Wood Elves, and Chaos of any sort.
