I know this has been brought up before, but I think its time to try this again. A lot of people are wanting to raid. A lot of people are wanting to see the new content, but honestly very few of us (id dare say not even enough for a functioning 10 man ulduar) have the gear for it. 10 mans are well and good, but they plataeu quickly, and lets face it, only 10 people are allowed in.
The answer is simple yet difficult all the same, 25 man content.
I want to start out by clearing a few misconceptions about 25 man content.
25 man raids are more difficult!
This statement though true, is not to much to worry about. 25 man raids are more difficult in certain aspects. These mainly involve fights where one or two players have specific roles that they are unfamiliar with (aka instructor raz) or on gearchecks (patchwerk). Archavon, Sartharion, and the first two wings of naxx are fairly simple on 25 man.
I've never been to the 10 man version, what if I cause us to fail?
This is of course each persons choice if they haven't done 10 man content. But quite a few of us have been raiding consistantly enough to make up for newer raiders coming in. Also in most circumstances 25 man content allows room for a lot more errors than 10 man does. So if you really want to do this with us, this is a fear you can put to rest.
I don't like pugs
Well sadly this is something I can't fix. We lack members who can all show up every night for every raid. We aren't a hardcore raid guild, people can come and go as they please. That means if we want to do 25 mans there will be some pug spots. On a positive note though, a lot of people in todays game do know what they are doing. I have hosted quite a few successful pugs (even 25 man naxx). And even if we do get a few bad eggs, we have quite a few skilled and geared members in each position. So really the positive should outweigh the negative (if there is any).
To start this out, I will be canceling the Sunday night Naxx raid in favor for a 25 man OS run. This should be posted on your in game calendars sometime today (thanks again Demeth). I hope to see a lot of interest. Even for you folks who are bored to death of OS, come support the guild!
Hopefully this will kick off and we can start doing other 25 man raids as well.
Edit- It appears Teddy has taken it on her hands to host Sunday's Naxx run so I of course won't be canceling it. But I plan to work around it with her so OS can still run on top of Naxx. OS will be held Sunday at 8pm. Naxx is still a go (Teddy can confirm or deny this) at 5pm.
