As the title states. Our OS run on the 28th failed.
We took the option to bring a few lower geared people to help out, which should have been fine. But it definatly seems the raid has been toughened up. A few examples.
The debuff on the first drake I do not remember at all. It increases shadow damage by 75% while the mob in the portal is up, and you damage yourself when attacking. I was taking 4k damage a swing.
A debuff that you take 1k damage every few seconds while in the portal.
Savistik mentioned the fire adds on sarth stunned.
Next weeks attempt I want to bring more of our well geared folk again, just to test these theories. Need to get OS back on farm status.

I have to take some of the blame for this. My UI (and *all* my gaming experience) is soooo far from "healing" I'm surprised my mere presence doesn't cause death within a 10 yard radius. It took me a while to get a handle on decursing people.
However I will say I was getting all kinds of misses on spells that never resisted before. I had to scorch as many as 4 times to get full stack (I have the glyph that puts 3x effect per scorch) and got resists to living bomb like never before.
I almost hate to ask, but is it possible we were on 25-man mode with only 10 people? Is that possible to happen if someone forgets and leaves it on "heroic" mode?
Edit: The effect we had on was "Twilight Shift (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=57874)" which has an infinite duration and does 1018 - 1182 dmg every *second*. I have searched high and low and found no references to it regarding Obsidian Sanctum except from a WOTLK beta forum on Blizzard's site that keeps telling me it's "down".

I actually checked the difficulty multiple times while we were in there. It was indeed on normal. I couldn't believe the ass whoopin we were getting in there so I kept checking just to make sure WoW wasnt switching it on us out of spite :-p

1 - That debuff while in the Twilight realm was always there before, and has been there since the beginning of WotLK. You probably never noticed it before because either you were tanking outside, or because of l33t HoT's from the healers.
2 - The one drake does indeed get a damage buff while the Twilight realm is open. Another of the drakes is invulnerable while the Twilight realm is open (I cannot remember the names. The southern drake is the invulnerable one, and the northern one is the damage buff one).
3 - Are you sure it was the fire adds stunning, or were people in the range of the dragon's tail swipe? I cannot say for certain if the adds stunned me whenever I was in there, but we had good AoE dps and tanking to handle that so that healers could concentrate on the tanks and those that were caught in the lava waves.
From what I know of the patch notes, the only thing to change to OS was that people coming out of the Twilight realm in the drake fights have a few moments on invulnerability to shadow and fire damage (<3 seconds). I guess that change was implemented for raid attempts on the big boss with the drakes up, so that those coming out of portals do not get annihiliated by a lana wave or a dragon breath attack.

I did 25 man OS - The Heroic didn't seem harder than it usually is. I'd tried to help out on the last attempt at the LOA 10 man, sorry RL had me miss the beginning, but I'm glad there were other folks in there to try things out.
I think it was probably a cumulative thing, between the absence of some heavily geared experienced folk with some who were less so, and maybe a couple "bad days". It happens. Sometimes you have to walk away and regroup (heh) when things descend into the realm of "not fun". We can try again!

I believe the stun was from the tail. I remember being hit by it once or twice.

Actually, "stunned" was the wrong word. Slowed/snared/whatever would be more accurate, but at the time I typed "stun" without thinking. Either way, the problem was that I couldn't get away from the adds while trying to AE them down and get to the gap in the wall of fire. :(
However, either way, I was definitely getting more misses on spells than I have in the past. Perhaps we have had some kind of class buff regularly in the past that we didn't have because we ran with lower geared members. I know my dps (ignoring the pulls where I was on decurse duty) was down by at least 300 over previous OS runs.
