They did the end of beta event. Once you step off the chopper to MC, you can talk to a police officer and he'll bump you up to level 40. I quickly chose a bunch of random powers. Went out into the city and killed a few of the big robots with lots of help.

It was fun being 40, and I could have played for hours, bumping all my characters to 40 and trying out every power in the game. Part of the big fun in single and MMO rpgs is finally getting that new power and seeing for myself what is does. I wanted to save some of that for the real game, rather than essentially using a console command to see every power in one night, so I quit early after doing my part in the robot invasion.

I can say, unless they have some super secret beta patch, its gonna be a rocky start with power balancing. Nothing that will bother me, I'm used to it in my MMO history. The pvp arena junkies are going to be a restless bunch though.

My parting thought is........I hope they don't try too hard to balance pvp. Its a never ending thing, that ends up with no cool powers, just everyone being equally bland. When will a game learn that if they want to do pvp, they need 2 totally different affects for every power and skill? It is hopeless to balance pvp while keeping all the skills different, special and heroic.

My 2 cents.

Some people think this game is not ready for release because of the balancing issues, but no one can tell me any single game where things are equally balanced. Even WoW has balancing issues still several years later.

I also believe that the more any game tries to balance PvP, they destroy the PvE experience.
