Short and sweet.

No. I have Aion pre-ordered, and CO (in my opinion) does a piss-poor job of rationalizing the existence of a thousand superheroes per city. If it were a single-player (or small-server non-MMO multiplayer) game, I'd buy it without a second thought.

There is something about it chewing at the back of my mind to not get it....but I enjoyed it enough to have it preordered via amazon.

I dont see me investing a ton of time into it, but as a distant 2nd option game...it has legs.

EDIT: I preordered and cancelled the order all in the same morning....I think I have my answer. Change my vote to no, I will not be buying it.

This game really didn't grab me - I can see where it has a fun factor for many people and can have some sustained growth, it just wasn't for me.

I canceled my Aion pre-order. It just feels like it will end up another grind game. Another, korean/chinese/whatever game like Lineage, Lineage II, and others.

I think I will pass on CO at this time. I have been known to change my mind, but right now is not a good time to try a new MMO at its release.

I'm stopping by GameStop on the way home and buying a copy for me and my daughter. I'll be on this weekend ;)

My wife is getting it, and she is going to have an early Christmas surprise for her own gaming computer. Going to get one that is the least expensive but also upgradable around Christmas time.

As for me, it really depends if this is going to be "second account" worthy or not. If my wife ends up really enjoying it, I will get a second copy late October and play with her. I haven't played enough beta to determine the "second account" worthiness yet.

Right now, my plan is to play this during WoW downtimes and non-raid nights.

Already bought it, no returns or canceled pre-orders from Direct2Drive. It was fun enough for a few days beta.

I'll play it for a bit. Nothing else in on the horizon except for single play games. Only other games on my radar is the Bioware rpg and maybe Borderlands after I read some player reviews.

If they keep the slowed xp progression they put in the last minute, I'm not sure I'll stay long though. It even affected the fun of gameplay even at levels 1-12 for me. I was way behind the leveling curve on my last character. If this stays in, I can see that rather than making fun thematic characters, I'll be forced to make min maxed characters just to fight the mobs that will always be several levels above me.

Yeah ths is kind of my thought on it too. Kind of hard to complete quests at level 6 when you have to fight a level 8 superhero.

I didn't even think the XP boost was really a "boost." I thought it was just the normal flow of things - but it looks like you will have to multitask between Canada and Desert if it stays like this.

Ok. I'll admit it. I think the game kicks ass and was going to buy it until I found out you were gonna play it. Then I changed my mind.

I have changed my mind yet again. Remembered I had a $25 amazon gift card from an award at work. So for $21 and free shipping I justified it.

In Killeen, TX for a week for work. I'll be back Saturday night, so I'll be getting my fair share of catch up time in game on Sunday and Monday.
