View Full Version : A few last minute comments...

One of the things I noticed which is frustrating to me - and hope the devs change this - is that last night when venturing out with a different character questing; mobs tended to be much more tough. I was used to taking down Rashaska solo, and last night could barely touch him - using the same strategy and everything. Also, I used to be able to start him around level 8 after doing pre-quests and so forth to get "Into the Storm." Last night, I barely made it to level 7.

I do not know what they changed, but I used to be able to do all the quests and leave the starting zone around level 5 or level 6. Now, barely make it to level 4 with equipment that requires a level or two more to actually use. I hope the devs were just testing stuff to see how they should scale the experience gain from enemies, and that this was not a real change before live. I went from being able to take down super villans - even doing all the VIPER quests by myself at level 13/14, to barely taking down villains. Same strategies applied.

The other comment relates to melee characters. At the power boost to 40, I was surprised how good it was. However, my only comment that I will make about melee is that if you choose to make one, I REALLY think your energy gain slot should be something that is ranged I say this because it seems like in PvP AND in PvE, things are constantly moving away from you in combat. If your energy builder is ranged, if you die you can easily gain back energy while rushing up on foes.

When creating my character, I think there is going to be a good balance between ranged and melee - most likely elemental damage and dual blades. Level 38 slot is reserved for Rebirth - in my estimation a much needed skill. Melee would be mostly for PvE, while ranged would mostly be for PvP.

I believe there was a XP boost for the open beta...so what you are seeing now might be what it will be like at launch.

This is something I like. Kind of a realism to the world. I get tired of the mob just standing there and turning only when you turn or move. I like how even the trash mobs have random movements, nearly every fight, no real set pattern, per sey.

Yes I realize this part about XP. But they must have drastically lowered it the last day - because I could not even get some of the quests...like "After the storm." I was level 6 with all quest options either completed or not available in Canada - which means traveling to the desert to get a couple of levels.

Maybe the only solution at launch then would be repeating the public mission in the starter zone until level 5 - or even level 6.

Personally, I hate bouncing back and forth between zones. I want to just do one zone and be done with it.
