have you checked D2D's site for any patches. the one big issue i have with them is they, more often then not, require you to get the patches from their site.

this was an issue i had with CoD4. the game would patch on it's own but not play. come to find out that you had to get the patch from D2D.

other then this i have no idea. i have not seen that. my only issue, which i think was on my part, was my keyboard on my laptop was acting weird in-game last night.

There are 3 things that will cause this....

Patch Server is down, so people who are already patched can get in.

They havent opened up the servers to launch day people and they are still in early access mode.

Your Key is invalid which appears to happen quite a bit to D2D folk.

I've also seen where some people has had luck re-registering their key.

I would recommend sending in a support ticket to both Cryptic and D2D.

I wish you would have asked before buying from D2D. I would have strongly suggested against it.

I'm betting it wasn't open to regular purchasers as of yesterday. As Tex stated, it was still in Early Access mode yesterday. Today is the official release date.

yep.. game is up and running.. turned out that the key I originally received was NOT the key I needed to open the game but a key for the pack item...

had to get onto D2D and go thru the DL to get the right key... but all is good now :)

now I just need to figure out what kind of build I want for my hero

Good stuff, have fun. So many character options, my first day in the early play, was just staring at the character creation screens and thinking about names and stories. By the time I figure out what I wanted to play, it was 7 hours until work time!

No matter what, no build is bad. Some will do more DPS then others, some will survive more then others, some can heal like mad, or you can work HARD, but work and do all very well.

There is nothing set in this game. Unlike games like WoW, WAR, and such, no one can tell you you have to spec a certain way....THANK GOD!

You must be getting slack in your old age. No WoW hate in this thread. :p

"No matter what, no build is bad."

Pre launch day patch yes. Post...there ARE a few powers that got hit really hard in damage output. I dont think you can pick them early on though...just do a little research.

No hating, just giving an example. There are no "set class builds" like in these games. No one can tell you to do this or you can't raid, etc.

Also, even though powers took a hit, this game was supposed to be about thinking battles, not just stand and mash same button over and over.

"The First True Action MMORPG

Hi-Octane Excitement: Champions Online delivers furious, fast-paced encounters previously reserved for action and fighting games. No more boring auto attacks and lengthy recharge times. Champions Online combat is instantaneous — and electrifying!

Brains required: Every enemy and super-powered threat in Champions Online has its own unique abilities and combat specialties. Use your head — or wind up dead!

Bring friends, make friends: The Champions Online universe will be jam-packed with thousands of heroes, facing thousands of threats. Join up with other heroes, create your own superteam, and prepare to take on the ultimate threats!"

This is the official description given to Gamestop on their site. Notice the first two. I don't want one power or two that do everything for me and that's it. I like to strategize. This is why I think I stuck with FFXI longer then any other game. You didn't just cast one spell or two. There were tons of strategies to casting to get bonus damage and etc. This is what CO is. Every class has great powers and crap powers. You find the balance, find what fits you, and play. No matter the hit, you will enjoy it this way. I haven't noticed much difference at all so far. There were tons of different types of characters last night in the desert with me. All using different powers and all still killing like before.

"The First True Action MMORPG"

I think WWII Online, planetside, neocron...I could go on...

Might have an argument there.
