This is a poem I wrote years ago. My early work was heavily influenced by William Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe and as such, I decided to write the poem in an Old English style with a dark subject matter.

Disclaimer: Despite the critiques I received at the time of writing this, I was in perfect mental health and was NOT contemplating suicide.

Seduction

Damnable blade with thy deadly poisoned tip,
Must thee call me forth with such sweet seduction?
Such a splendid spectacle of sublime destruction,
doth plead to be plunged deep within my waiting breast.

Subtle lies it doth whisper of grander days, indeed,
If I would let it but nick my wrists and feed.

Oh, damnable blade with thy deadly poisoned tip,
Canst thou promise to purge this wretched pain?
Soothing, sweetly, she sighs as a lover, "yes"
And crimson streams fall as rain.

You did well to not let me see this when you wrote it.

Seeing it now, I think it rather good.

I think it nicely done as well.

I actually wrote this after a friend of mine committed suicide shortly after high school. It was sort of a coping mechanism for me.
