My Modem has gone out and I am going to have to buy one for the time being.
My local DSL provider has said that they will give me a new one but that I have to
sign a new 2 year contract. I am thinking I may switch to cable internet - but with all the lines down to the ice storm it will be 2-3 Months before they can get to me.

So I am thinking of buying a DSL Modem so I can still use my home pc until I Cable.
Anyone have one that they would recommend that isnt to high priced since its just for a few months?

I checked with AT&T about their DSL but they said it is unavailable to me....which is really odd since our local provider rents the lines from them so that they can offer the service.
People in town have AT&T and say it works great. NewWave Communications is the only Cable company in our town so that is my only option for cable. So its try the cable or stick with the same crappy DSL I have.

I have an old SpeadStream 5360 that I used back when I had DSL. I'm a packrat, so I never get rid of anything. You can have it if you want, for what ever it costs me to ship it to you.

The manual is found here (http://assistance.sympatico.ca/img_gallery/SpeedStream5360_EN.pdf).

I have the modem and Power Supply.

TY for the offer.

I called AT&T after talking to a few people that use them. I went with their top dsl and going to try that out. They said I should have a modem in 3 days....so I can just borrow my neighbors in the evenings when he does not use his. Thank You for the offer though.
