Tonight I Tewkano had the honor of drawing the winning raffle ticket for the Hog I was giving away and Pahimar was the lucky winner. Congratulations to him. I want to say thank you to everyone who purchased tickets. I wish everyone could have won, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I appreciate the great participation we had. I sold nearly 500 tickets, which was far more than I imagined we would sell. I did make a mistake or two along the way (an am refunding in full those short changed by my errors) but all and all it went extremely well.
I hope I can do another of these sometime and the offer to construct a hog for anyone who would like one will always stand.
Thanks again and congrats again.

Thanks Broog for holding this raffle, and to everyone for participating. The hog is really quite awesome, and I will give rides to whomever asks.
I think we need another raffle for another hog. As the winner of this round, I'll pony up some Titansteel bars for the draw to sponsor it. Broog, you interested in another one of these?
And please, don't hate me everyone! :(

I'll run another one and be happy to build the bike. I will warn however that it may take a lot longer for me to pull it off. I kicked in about 3000 of my own gold to make this possible and frankly I can't really afford to do that each time we run one of these. That said, I didn't mind ponying up my own money, and in the end I spent a lot less than what I figured I would (I was guessing I would be paying closer to 6000g out of pocket). This had more to do with a surge in ticket sales as we got closer to the drawing than anything else.
This is what I would suggest. Everyone start saving their money up now. In a week or two I will make an announcement concerning ticket sales. From there we'll start taking money for tickets. By then I should have a little stronger bank account and others will have money for tickets. How's that sound?

Figure out how much it cost you to make one, and just keep the date flexible until you have the funds covered.
It may take a little longer that way, but I doubt anyone would complain if they can get a hog for a few hundred gold. I'll have 300 gold to start off. =p

You could also potentially increase the cost of the tickets. I don't think anyone here was or is expecting you to fork out a large (or any) amount of gold to cover the difference. I also don't think that we would have a problem paying more per ticket either (I could be wrong) to help cover the cost of making the bike too.
Myself, I would pay upwards of 50g a ticket, or 5 for 200-225g. It's money that can be easily recouped through dailies at lvl 80, or through the work of professions. Maybe a vote should be held to determine what people feel is a realistic and fair ticket price?

seriously, I don't think the price of the tickets matter. People have a set amount in mind to spend. They will contribute that amount, whether it buys 1 ticket or 100 tickets.

I agree, sell the tickets until you reach the amount needed 100%. It might take a week...could take a month, but it would be fun, waiting to see when the drawing date is going to be. :)

Okay, everyone can start saving money for the next raffle. I will give it a week and then start collecting. At that point I will open it up and start collecting money. In total it costs right around 20k for the bike (that's including the titansteel which I donated last time). I have no problem donating the titansteel this time around either. It will take me twelve days to get it around (at least). I would like to keep the tickets at the same price though. I thought it worked out pretty well that way.

As I'm sure you all know, I am very new to the guild...but I've come to get to know some of you and it's been a blast! The thought of everyone in the guild eventually all having a hog is quite a remarkable thought indeed. It would be almost like our trademark or something....all LoA members ride a hog....too cool.
I didn't participate in the last raffle mainly because I am not a lvl 80, so I find it hard to let go of my gold when I have it b/c it definately takes me quite awhile to get it. However, I will be participating in the next raffle....I've been saving up some money....let's just hope it works out for me in the end. To everyone who is going to participate....good luck to you all, and keep it up guys...we will all eventually have a hog to make people turn their heads when they see us roll up as a guild of hogs.
