I am currently looking at a 24 player for $30 OR a a 28 for $35

I'd be happy to help pay for one. Really had fun on our BF2 server, and we did get some (weirdos) members from it. :)

I am leaning towards a 28 and having 6 reserved slots for LOA'ers (which I would adjust for day/night to keep the server active)

It is currently set to Rush and I am thinking about switching it every few weeks...what do you guys think?

I say leave it rush but limit the number of medics (gods) and Snipers (campers). It will take awhile for people to get use to but eventually it will be well played.

Yeah, you can level up a class quickly by playing on a empty server. If you use explosives on the stations before you activate it you can get an extra 100 a station (suicide yourself via nade)

There's been a few people on when I've played, sadly they all just leave when I kill them though.

You get xp for destroying the stations, as if you're playing assault then you get assault xp. As for repairing stuff, I think someone needs to be inside the vehicle for you to get points for it.

We should make a game night on our server, I'm pretty sure we have a whole lot of people playing.

If you want to "game" the game :) do this....

Log in to an empty rush server.

Select yes to squad.

Make sure you are attacker.

Pick class you want to "level".

If class has explosives (RPG, C-4, nade launcher) select options to carry as many as possible.

Highlight mcom station and press Q before you start attacking it.

Get 50 points two times from blasting mcom with explosives, set it to blow. (if you are assault you can get more, or if you want to nade yourself more)

after it blows....

Nade yourself....

Start over.

You get points for damaging mcoms, points for ordering your squad to attack, points for setting explosives on mcom, points for it blowing, AND points for squad order again.

Looks like they released a patch that allows server admins to tie in different types of game...IE 1 map rush, next map conquest.

It isnt easy to do to be honest. None of the 3rd party admin tools are really strong AND the one provided by server companies are always lacking.

I am still looking into options though...would like to get the population up as well.

It could be because it's hard to find for whatever reason. I know I couldn't find it in the list of servers nor could I find it through a filtered search until I put in exactly what you showed me to put in.

btw, in vista you have to go to properties on the icon and set it to run as admin to see the server pings in the game browser.

Also, it is hard to find because the server browser lists 1000000 servers...they need to have the option to break it down by region.

I have shut it off via the server company admin...but it seems to be stuck on. I may have to directly edit the .ini file.

Ok, I just used BC2 guardian to change the settings on the server...

Kill cam should be off
New map added to rush
team balance is on

Do note, since this was set via a 3rd party app...any time the server restarts the settings will be lost. ALL of the 3rd party app's and server company admin tools are limited in their use atm.

Let me expound on the team balance...

When either side gets above 2 more players than the other side there will be 3 warnings for someone to switch. If teams dont even out after 3rd warning then the last player to join overpopulated team gets booted.

Kill cam doesn't bug me much... mostly because i need all the help i can get until i unlock a worth-a-damn weapon. Stupid pkm can't even hit someone standing right in front of you.

auto balance doesn't work, just had a game with 4 people in it, 2 on each side, and all of a sudden like 6 people dropped in and they were all on the attacker side so we had 8 vs 2. It never said anything about kicking or balancing.

It has been getting full on the weekends. The key is getting 5-6 on the server...then others start streaming in.
