Ok, so this is a pretty weak review, not because the game is weak, but because I'm really just testing this new "Post Review" thing.
I played AC and loved it. Many criticized the repetitive nature of the missions. Ok, so it was a little wash-rinse-repeat. However, many "mission based" games do the same thing as the mechanism to move the story along... and moving along brings me to ACII.
I know it's been out since last November (or thereabouts), so perhaps this is really old news for some, but... d@mn I'm loving this game.
The new environments presented are just as gorgeous as in the first AC, if not even more so, given the nature of the style of the Renaissance period.
They did a very nice job with the mission repetition by adding some new styles of mission, as well as adding a host of new side-missions.
There's also a great deal more variety in both the type of enemies the player faces, as well as the weapons available to the player, and fighting moves that go along with and are specialized for each weapon.
In short, a player could do a lot worse than to while away some time exploring the Italian Renaissance, and executing those who "deserve" to die.
Oh, if you do pick up this game, I suggest you do as Solf suggested to me,- definitely turn on the "subtitles". ;)
