For the baseball fan, I found this free game last night that is in beta. You can download the game form their site, albeit from file planet or file front. Its a nifty little game that is able to make use of the official mlb lisence. Its been fun the few games I have played so far online.

I had an interesting game yesterday. I had jsut reached lvl 3, which means I had to move up to the amateur room. I set up a game and a lvl 6 comes in. We start playing. After the first inning he is calling me a nub, i suppose means newb. I am like whatever. by the third inning of a five inning game he is cussing me and calling me a gay pitcher. He had not scored. I was up 1-0. He claims I am lagging, not ure how he could tell that, everything seemed fine on my end, so he must have been lagging.

I let him score two runs and while he is doign that I am telling him I am letting him score so he will stop whining. Then he proceeds to talk even more junk, then quits the game. I just laughed.

Moral of this story, don't give a whiner runs just to shut him up. He still doesn't stop whining. Next time I will just win the game and let him talk bad about me.

I just couldn't figure out how I was a newb pitcher when I held him scoreless for 2 innings. Only reason he scored int he 3rd was because I served up some changeups down the middle for him to hit.

Looks like that was a quick closed beta. Open beta to begin in march.

I'll take a look at this when open beta starts as baseball is my favorite sport.

Made an account ...then read that the beta ended Feb. 16th..... so will have to check back to see when the open beta begins.

It is a somewhat simple baseball game. You control some minimal aspects of the plays. You pitch and you throw the ball to the bases on defense. You hit and select running to extra bases on offense. There are a few more options on offense, such as setting a runner to steal. You can substitute players, ie relief pitcher or pinch hitter/runner.

It was fun and I liked playing. Out of my 9 or so games, only had the one negative player from above. I think its supposed to be a free to play game, but 100% sure on that. For a free game with a MLB license use, its not bad.

I have a slight leg up in the rookie lounge because of my limited beta experience. I am 2-0. The big thing about this game is being able to pitch. I would say most people will not be very patient batters, so use that to your advantage with pitch placement.

I got in a couple of more games last night and extended my record to 4-0. I won one of those in the last inning. Exciting game.

Have not figured out how to find other people other than in TS.

Balt and I have played several games.
I am 2-12 against him or something like that.
To say I suck at batting is an understatement.

If someone figures out how to add friends or guild let me know. Did figure out how to change the lineup though.

Yeah I was trying to figure out how to do a guild. No luck yet. I graduated to the next room at lvl 3. I'd say we can make our game names with LOA in it so we can at least see each other. I saw you on last night barb, guess you were playing balt.

If I make a room people fight to get to play me for the easy win. My two wins came off of Balt while he was taking a bio break...and still struck out 8 times. I can crank em in batting practice but game time I suck.

player pitching is much different. You should try the exhibition games barb.

Ok so I won my first game 1-0. The last two games I tried to play the game locks up after the first pitch. It happened twice. Now I am 1-2 and not very happy about that fact. Not sure why the game is locking up, I could still chat and so could the other guy. Lame!

I had a guy somehow pause/stall the game waiting for me to giveup an leave I assume.
Maybe thats whatt happened to you.

Is there a way to pause?

I have heard of freezes, next time let the other guy leave the game first. you get a no decision he gets the loss.

the only pause is a limited one to make substitutions.

Need a que so I can get in some games against balt and barb. I had a good game last night against a random. I was lvl 3 he was lvl 9. He was up 5-0 on me thru the top of the third and I scored 4 runs in the bottom of the third. We both got two more through the end of the game in the 5th and I ended up loosing by 1 run.

I got my first HR of the game. That felt nice. He was a stealing machine, only a few times did he not steal when he had a runner on first. Even when I knew he was going, my catcher did not deliver a fast enough ball to 2nd. I will need to work on that because if I get some of those outs, I might win.

Balt and I find each other on X-Fire so we can get games going. Drop a note and we can have a rotation or something. Can you watch other games as they are played? Would be cool if we all 3 could be in the same room and just rotate the teams around and the other could spectate or something.

I have tried to join a game in progress before and it says room is full. I suspect the game was already underway. I have not tried to join a room other than that. It would be cool to allow others to spectate, but I guess that could cause some bandwidth issues at some point and create lag.

The game freezing is a known issue according to the forums. If you jsut wait five minutes, the application will automatically give both teams a draw.


Now I can't even get the game to load...lol

Oh well, it was fun for the 1 game I got to play.

Check the support forum. I had the same issue, and got it working again (on Vista).

There was an update last night that fixed some of the issues and added a few minor things. Now if they could give me something to get Balt not to smack every F'n pitch into the gap no matter how I set my D I would be happy...or if my infield would move a little and not watch the ball run over the top of their foot.
