Xbox live free!

Well, it may be happening.

Seems that thereis a lot of chatter, online and games, that XBox Live will be going free, maybe by next year. So if you buy the cards for XBox Live, I would reccomend buying the 1 or 3 month cards only until this is verififed.

I figured this would happen eventually, since they have lost a player base, aside from CoD games, with the online play for PS3 and Wii being free of charge.

I am of two minds about this, on the one hand, it's great to get something for free, on the other hand, I don't mind paying for a service if it means it is a better service. XBox Live is excellent, at an excellent price, and I think that Microsoft honestly deserves money for the service.

I agree completely. The XBox Live service is amazing, as well as teh Dashboard.

Maybe if Sony or Nintendo stepped up and actually made an online service that could compete on the same level as Xbox Live, but I havent seen that happen yet.

Sure Sony is trying but has no arcade, not as seemless, cant buy and download any ps2 games, has no backward compatibility for ps2 games (you can buy and download popular xbox games from LIVE), and Home is a joke right now. And wheres all the downloadable content for games you already have like Live has?

Not trying to give you a hard time two days in a row but somedays I enjoy it more than others.

I agree with Ceafo. I'm by no means a PS3 h8ter but if a multiplayer game I want is available on either system, I'll opt for the Xbox version, purely for the better online experience. Everyone I know with both systems says the same thing as well. I don't think Xbox has lost any of it's marketshare due to the free multiplayer available from Sony or Nintendo.

OH, me too. I love XBox Live. The best console online gaming setup there is, or was. I am only excited about it because I have several friends around the country, that are having a hard time, due to school, work, economy and such, trying to pay for XBox Live. I would love to be able to get online and hang with these guys and have some fun killing. But, with the fee they jsut can't. They won't let me buy them time either...jerks lol.

I am in no way saying Wii or PS3 is better with the free online. The above is why I am happy about this rumor.
