I'm thinking of building a new gaming PC, as the one I have is close to 4 years now.
My question is if I should imnstall it with Vista or go for Win 7 beta in stead?

For the sake of your sanity DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT install Windows Pista. I have had nothing but trouble with it since adding it to my gaming PC. My wifes system which is almost identical to mine minus the vidcard boots and runs about 20% faster then my PISTA machine.

I've had no issues with my Vista machine.
My old PC was about 4 or 5 years old and there's lightyears difference between them.
Win7 will cease to work in a few months from what I've been reading but ... I don't know nothing.

I've been running Vista for quite some time as well, with no problems what-so-ever. I think most of the problems you hear about Vista are vaporware, or user error.
Windows 7, however, I have problems with, and plenty of them. Although I am running a LOT of stuff on my machine. I am going back to Vista on my main machine. I will set up a Windows 7 machine for testing, but it will not be my main machine until the RC comes out, or possibly even the release.
On the same machine I am now running Windows 7, and it crashes at least twice a day, I was able to run Vista for weeks on end with no crashes.

You could alway keep your XP OS for a little while, and upgrade after 7 is actually released.

My XP CD is for Dell PC's only, as well as quite old (plenty of updates and problems with drivers). Maybe the company I will use to build it has some XP licenses left (I know a lot of the smaller companies bought a lot of licenses before it was too late). On the other hand, I hate upgrading a OS, theres always problems.

If you want to go to Windows 7 later, don't use XP, unless you want to have to do a fresh install. Windows XP is not upgradable to Windows 7. It has to be vista.

I don't think I'd use any of those parts, as they're all spelled funny. I think they may be some knockoffs or something.
Kidding. I actually don't have a clue. But wanted to say something anyway.
