I was just wondering who all would be trying this game out?

Dunno... would like to see if they are going to have US based servers etc.

I dont think I will be yet...

Seems like they are fully focused on the FFA PvP aspect and have come very short on the promised PvE side of things.

Sounds too much like a WAR and AoC launch to me...I have been burned to hard recently to go with this at launch.

I haven't decided yet. I'll keep my ear to the wall, and give it a try (I'm sure there will be a 10 day trial or something) once the first wave of game crippling bugs are cleaned out.

I like the aspect of a skill system like they had in SWG.

HOWEVER, I am VERY skeptical and will probably not purchase this game. One of the biggest reasons is that I have been reading there is a lot of information stored client side instead of server side. This has led to (from what I have read) and will lead to more hacking. This includes speed hacking, teleporting, aim bots, stamina and health mods.

While this kind of thing doesn't normally bother me in FPS games because I understand it's just sad little people having issues in real life and it only effects stats, in DF it's FFA PVP with full loot.

Im not a DF hater or anything. Hell, I like the fact that it's an "indie style" mmo with no marketing, small budget, and not your typical game developer trying to make a stab at the AAA market but I'm afraid it's going to be a mess at release. Like others here I have been burned too many other times to take a chance at launch on this one.

I will wait a min. of a month until after launch to see how it is going with the game then check back in with it

I will be playing as long as the PVP stays the way it is now.

I am liking there is no actual "class."

I like that everything can bemade by players and the quality is based off many faactures, races, etc...

I like you can learn nearly anything. Nothing like a huge heavy tank casting heal spells but not lose anything in the tank side like other games do.

I like that skills can be learned by NPC or players.

I like the total freedom of everything.

What I am seeing to is that many are afraid of the FFA PVP, but they are supoosedly putting a huge penalty on farming one person, and a skill cap in which you can not attack or are severly gimped if you attack a less skilled player, such as the chicken in WAR.

There will be no North American servers at launch. Currently they are not even able to provide a decent pre order site and it is next to impossible to register. They are having serious issues in this regard and have no ETA on when a possible fix will be in. With that said, the game is due to launch on European servers in 2 days.

As far as I can tell, there is no box to purchase in stores. The only way to get this is by downloading the client via torrent which is taking 4 hours plus for most NA pre orders that were able to get in before their pre order method went haywire.

I would not hold my breath on this game. Like others, I was burned by the let downs of AoC and WAR at their launches. This one will be an epic fail.

I'll still be playing UO on a free shard... less chance of being pk'd constantly, with faster graphics .

FYI: AoC has been basically fixed completely and is a VERY good game now. WAR also, though it's slower paced.

"FYI: AoC has been basically fixed completely and is a VERY good game now."

I was a big AoC fanboy....it is almost a year after launch Landro :). Retarded monkeys could have fixed it completely by now...and they have. :pirate_cheer:

and the problem with WAR was the PvP lakes + BG's...did they fix that? (and my Gimpy Archamge...I hear they did)

No plans at all to play Darkfall

Everything about it screams "2nd or 3rd rate"

I'll be sticking to polished games like WoW.

A game that sounds this open cannot do any single thing that well IMO. The site and the info sounds like alot of hype to me (as is 90% of all MMO's that are new or on the horizon...hello Pirates of the Burning Sea?)

I will be playing. Got my account up with billing information yesterday, but they closed down before I could pre-order. Hopefully they will have more servers up and running (maybe even at launch which is only hours away).

They got a lot more customers ordering the game than was expected. Not sure what that says. My accounts (made 2 by mistake) are numbered 12xxx and 13xxx. So I would guess 10 - 15000 was able to preorder. Each server can take 10000 players.

The game is only released in Europe to start with, but ping times from the US east coast would be no more than 100 - 150 mS, so the game is very playable. When/if the US servers come, they will let players migrate.

I have ordered a whole new PC for this game (my old is nearly 4 years). You can see the specs in the comp. forum.

This is the game I hope LOA can again play in full numbers (I really miss the UO times).

At the start I will be learning the mechanics of the game. If anyone attacks me I don't want to fumble with my sword or what not.

I saw FJ talking about downloading it (while he was in Sweeden), maybe we will even see Brim playing a game again? Long time now Brim! Kids have grown up since you quit playing (Was EQ1 the last time you played?). :)

This is actually the first game that, in concept, has interested me since... say... Auto Assault. I would like to try it out, but i think it's going to take two or three months before it's functional enough to attempt. I have no problems waiting till then, I'm in no hurry.

I totally agree. I have been playing it again for about a month now on the Tyranny server with a few co-workers. I really wish this is how it would have been at launch. They are really turning it into a solid game.

There are alot of aspects of this game that appeal to me (pretty much everything but the pvp). that said I've always played on a pvp server so I suppose that doesn't matter. I'm going to give this a 30 day wait so that they can unfunk their billing/servercrashing/ClientDL then pick it up.
my thinking is that much like AC, your first character is probably going to be throw away, so learn2play and transfer to the first avail us server.

Same here. Waiting a bit. I figure if that a good percentage of the sales were from US so they will get it open here ASAP. By then they should have the bugs worked out.

I wouldn't be too nervous about playing on EU servers if I were you. The ping times will be reasonable. For the west coats they might be a little on the high side (guessing 150 - 200mS), but east coast is no more than 100 - 150mS.

Hello everyone,

I'm Gwenneth. My husband Valdox(ius)/Darl and I were in LOA back in the UO/EQ days. The last time I was a regular on the forums, my son was a baby. He's eight now. :) I thought I'd stop by and say hello to those I know. I haven't had time to play games much these last few years due to school, work, and family time. After we move next month, Valdox and I are planning on playing Dark Falls. I hope to see y'all there.

Hi Gwenn! It's been a long time since I saw you. I used to be Ascricus in UO, but changed to Walterus in EQ. Would be great to get you back. :)

So I have the 9gb client downloaded and installed, but I was unable to get a pre-order account and so far they won't let you make new accounts.

If I ever get to play this game I'll let y'all know how it is.
