Anyone playing this yet? I am reading the Darkfall forums on mmorpg and its very entertaining. It's crazy to me how personal people take this sh&t sometimes and attack each other over a game.
Anyways, I have been reading about people sploitin some high level mobs pathing issues to gain armor and gold. From what I have read they are getting stuck in water (and cant move or attack the players), walls, invisible mobs, synce issues, and some other stuff.
Is this true for those that are playing? I find it hard to believe myself after a game has been in development for over 6 years is it....

I'm doing my best to not get my hopes up, but this part does sound nice.
Combat is FUN! When it wasn’t out of sync I can’t believe how well it actually works. It’s really, really simple but it feels right for the type of game. It feels just like Oblivion, except more responsive. I’m impressed with how they’ve managed to get the real-time working so well, especially given the lag. Questing has been very basic, but really rewarding. Money is hard to come by (When you play legit, you clowns) and getting 60g from a quest and a chain tunic actually makes you super excited. In fact, the first thing I did was bank my chain tunic so that I didn’t lose it while I’m still a newbie in the game. Valuing a newbie item to that extent says something about the atmosphere.
...
Pking isn’t as bad as people thought. I was expecting non-stop fighting and to be ganked right when I step outside town. People are being surprisingly conservative. If you attack people then you will turn grey for a period of time and others can attack and kill you without penalty. If someone kills you while you’re blue (meaning you haven’t attacked anyone) then they will turn red, lose faction, and can be killed without penalty. That’s not something you want to mess around with this early in the game. The result of this “I know you can kill me if you want to” atmosphere has created this sense of dire realism. Stepping outside the newbie town and running 100 yards feels like an epic journey because I truly do not know what waits for me behind the next tree. If you die, you lose it all.
Darkfall has a unique feel to it. I feel like I’m living the game, and not playing it. There isn’t this drive to level or to progress. I have so many options and I don’t know what to do first. I can harvest resources or complete some of these really rewarding quests. I can go kill goblins and raise my skills as well as gather resources or I can kill players to jack what they’ve earned. I can explore the world and run for hours in one direction never once seeing something familiar. These aspects of the game are pure untainted win.

I ordered a new one, just for this game. Completely über, and much too expencive. But my old was closing in on 4 years, and the new one with it's quad core will last me a long time.
What with the resolution, anyone know? I'm not buying any new monitor (old i 17" + 20") before I know if it's worth it.

Still waiting on stories from the crew playing Darkfall. Spew the stories and other details.....

Where the hell can you buy this game? My big concern is, righ now, that I have logged onto the forums daily, off and on, only to see same message. "Sorry for the downtime"

You can only purchase this game online. But that is currently disabled. They had a pre order period but they were only selling a finite ammount. They did not disclose that and the online server for pre ordering they were using could not handle the large ammount of traffic.
Some people who pre ordered are not able to get into the game yet even though they have recieved their authorization code. It appears right now that only those who were in beta and pre ordered are the ones actually playing at the moment.
If you would like you can go ahead and download the game client though by torrent. This is the only way actually to get the client. I had heard that it took some people a week to download but it only took me 9 hours. It is a bit over 8 gigs in size.
They will not open up game orders until some of the accounts have cleared authorization and those who have decided not to play the game "free up" their pre order.
I would doubt that they allow anymore purchases for the next few weeks while those who have got in already, pay to beta test the game some more.

This game does have tons of bugs and problems but underneath that it is an absolute gem of a game.It feels like UO. When you log in there is NO race to level. That is and of itself, it great. 1 character per server in Darkfall, so you dont have to worry about rolling up alts.Mobs are tough. The little goblins call their buddies, run behind you, and kite YOU. Archery and Magic is FPS style, no autoaim in this game...you have to aim to hit your target. I haven't practiced this at much so I can't comment on it. When I got a few gold pieces and a sword I felt like the king of the world. Very, very refreshing game. The downside is there are exploits being used. Melee sync was out for about a full day. THAT was fun. Everything worked fine but the mobs were invisible. You'd end up trying to swing at a blood spot. Servers have been down a lot. Preordering has been a mess, along with account management.Ping from the US is about 150-170 and is very playable. It can also be run on an old computer. I play just fine on an AMD 3200 single core, 4 GBs of RAM, and a Gefore 8800. You could easily play it on something less. The graphics are good! I understand how people have been burned by the last few MMO's but Darkfall just may be that next great game.

I HATE YOU!!! I mean, here I tried all day when the preorders were available and only got to register my credit card before they closed it down (I was actualy pressing the pre order button like crazy). I will own your ass when I get into the game. I will kill you about 10 times before I'm starting to get satisfied! :D
