View Full Version : Time to kick this into high gear

We have now successfully taken down naxx two weeks in a row with minimal difficulty. In fact last week we had only three wipes that could have been easily avoidable, and in fact probably wont happen in the same context simply due to the experience gained by them. So I propose we make this a bit more challenging.
Of course you all know... I mean the Glory of the Raider achievement.
Simply put we have a bit of time before the new raid hits and we focus our attention on that. It wont be long before we knock Malygos off his pearch either.
For those of you who don't know, the Glory of the Raider achievement brings forth quite a few nice titles, and rewards. The end reward being a plagued proto drake epic flyer.
I personally am up for the challenge, and I think I know quite a few others who are. So in short, I propose if we have the desire to do this, to start this Wednesday with the most difficult achievement we need in Naxxramas. The Undying.

You have to wait until I can play more. :D

I believe they are removing the plagued proto-drake reward when 3.1 hits, as they claim Ulduar gear would trivialize the accomplishment. If you really want the drake, you'll need to move fast.

I'm game. Still need my T7 helm and shoulders. Preferably for dps and tank sets...

You know what, I think I'll change my mind and give this a go. I've got some things sorted out in life now, and I do think this is viable. Guess we start tonight?

If there's still room, when the time comes, I can give it a go.

For standard runs, I've been sitting out, I don't need the gear and other people do. If your intent this week is to do the challenging achievements, however, I'm very interested in that. Because of rl, I can't make it at exactly 5 PM, er, 8 PM server time. I have a lot to offer for holding a spot for me for those additional five or ten minutes past the typical start time, though... I'm way up the scale in knowledge, practical experience, consumables, gear, connectivity, and so on.

If this is a go, we will need to nail down a roster. Our basic group makeup is generally:
2 tanks
3 healers
5 dps
My proposal for group makeup for this:
Tanks - Moritz and Teidilu
Healers - Mophead, Viral, and myself
DPS - Coffeefueled, Kegara (yummy totems), Demeth, Ehna (boomkin aura ftw), and for 5th I'm torn between Vyk and Aelisa.
These are all people with top gear, top dps and hps, and know the fights very well. I think this group stands a great chance on all of the achievements related to Glory of the Raider.
Now discuss :-D, and hopefully there won't be too much in terms of flaming.

If you guys want some tips for some of the more difficult/annoying achievements just get me in game and I'll give you what info I can. 3 drake sarth, 6 min malygos, and undying are definitely 3 of the more difficult ones. Undying there are some tricks to but all it takes is a dc at a bad time and bye bye achievement.

You dirty elitist!
Just kidding, go for it, be cool seeing you guys getting Undying and those other achievements.
I know you for example have ran side raids just to let others get a taste of the raid scene. I certainly have no problem with you guys cherry picking the most experienced(and geared guys) to achieve something special. I'd have to be a total ass, to insist I be included, when I wasn't up to snuff for the goals of 9 other people.

Wow Wooze! I truly appreciate your support! Thanks for your comments. This is a goal that I would love to accomplish, and I would much rather do with guildmates to help them succeed too, rather than a PUG. In all honesty, I doubt it is possible to PUG. I hope that we as a guild can unite on this and see it through to completion.
