Playing Again

I reactivated my account this month right before the server mergers and have been enjoying myself. I split my time between AoC and Warhammer now.

The server I'm on is Set and the activity is like it was at the beginning since the server mergers but with MUCH less bugs and far more content (pvp mini games, lots of new armor, entire new zone (ymirs pass for mid 50's), and a lot of dungeons revamped for example) with dx10 coming in the next patch which is on testlive now. I believe the next patch also includes two new level 80 dungeons and (I think) a new raiding dungeon.

I play a PoM (healer) mainly which is level 42 named Seefo. My other characters are a level 54 HoX (mage) named Ceafo and a level 20something Dark Templar (tank) named Cerial.

This game certainly had potential but I'm not very inclined to reload it on my machine. I did enjoy the "active" combat styles and hope we see more of that kind of thing in the future. In fact, even though it isn't the same I view the play style of the new Warden class in LOTRO as being Turbine's emulation of what AoC was doing.

But there's just not enough variety in what you can do. And travel becomes really tedious in the latter half of the game. The graphics engine leaves some performance (not visual) to be desired, and frankly I consider any MMO designed around fixed zones to be really behind the times. (Yes, I realize that even so-called seamless MMOs do in fact use zones, but I'm referring to the constant loading-screen transition design). So these various flaws don't really overcome the things I like about the game, such as the prolific voice acting and active combat. And lets face it... server mergers are never a sign of a game's prosperity.

I am trying to get back on. But, for some reason I can't get it to reactivate my account lol. Even when I add my card as a new payment still says frozen lol.

Make sure Seefo is added to your friends list. I took him out of the guild since no one else was playing and joined another guild with him. Ceafo and Cerial are still in the LOA guild though.

Great fun last night. With all the fixes and improvements, new areas added, and class enhancements.....I dare say this game has become what I knew it could be at the beginning....WHY DID THEY TAKE SO LONG TO LISTEN!!????

I am jonesing for more play even now.

Loved last night Me, Ceafo, Rip, Silverfall all making a newb toon and running. Had a blast. I plan to be on again tonight....Most liekly playing my ToS or assassin. Would love to get us all on again to static group, I am liking the ranger A LOT.
