I recently purchased a Samsung blu-ray player and hooked it up to my Toshiba LCD HDTV via HDMI. The player displays the Samsung splash screen when powered on. But once I put in a DVD, blu-ray or standard, after the player does it's loading thing all I initially get is audio but no picture. I get the digital equivalent of snow that flashes. However, if I change the hdmi input on the tv to something else, then back to the dvd player the video will be there. I'm using a Belkin HDMI 1.3 compliant cable and I already exchanged the blu-ray player for another with the same results. All other hdmi devices (cable box, Xbox 360) work fine. Any ideas as to what's going on and maybe how to fix it?

Thanks.

Sounds like your TV isn't negotiating certificates with the player when it turns on, and just giving up when nothing is detected as your first switch over to that input.
New TV, or turn the blu-ray player on before switching the TV input.

Either way, complain about overly secure video streams, that don't actually prevent piracy.
