It happens to us all at one time or another. You sit down in front of your machine after a day at work (or after getting out of bed on a weekend), power it up, open the 'game' menu, and just sit there. The look on your face is blank. Your pulse is normal. Birds can be heard singing outside and someone's mowing the grass nearby. A few moments go by and you haven't clicked anything.

You could be suffering from a case of incendia intereo, otherwise known as "Burnout".

I've talked to at least three people over the past week that are suffering from this terrible affliction. Those of us that have been around the block a few times know that the cure for this horrible disease can take the unfortunate sufferer down a long and lonely road.

You don't have to suffer alone.

We can help.

My own experience has shown that playing a new and different game at the onset of symptoms greatly increases your chance of a full recovery. For those playing online RPG's, I'd like to recommend Battleground Europe (http://www.wwiionline.com). It's a massive online shooter that's been around for almost eight years and has seen major improvements over its lifetime. It does have a steep learning curve but if you like WWII history and the idea of flying a plane, driving a tank, being infantry, etc, is appealing when compared to going on another raid in an RPG, this may be the medicine you've been looking for.

There is a 14-day trial and the download is less than 500mb. Do pay close attention to the minimum system requirements, they're for real on this one. If you plan on trying out vairous vehicles and aircraft, you'll need a comfortable joystick and some patience. There is server-side training available and I'd be more than happy to help out.

Don't wait until you're ready to quit the game you're playing. By treating Burnout early, you'll keep the passion for your primary game alive while enjoying a whole different experience.

This has been a public service announcement brought to you by the LOA :)

My symptoms aren't so much "burnout" as they are "there are too many f!@#tards on the internet, why play games with them" kind of thing.

As for the game I will have to take a look at this when I get home. Right now I am having a blast with Quakelive.com even if I am a F^%$^$Tard that finishes in 5th place by falling off stuff or killing myself.

I'm not. Because if I can't play games with people I know, I don't really bother at all. And there aren't any games that LOA is in that really hold my interest right now.

Dear god I want to play this again. If we have even a small number of LOA get serious I will dust off my account.

I had a huge post made up but it was too much. I started this game just after launch and trust me, if you have been looking for a tactical shooter that includes vehicles...you wont find a better.

I was in the beta and in the for a short while after release. It seems to have come a long way since then. However, I doubt I will make a return at this time.

I figure I will try the 14 day trial to see if I like it better than BF2.

It's a very different game from the Battlefield series. The pace isn't the same. Death comes swiftly to infantry during the steep learning curve but don't let this discourage you. It just takes some time to get used to the differences.

If you are going to try tanking for flying you HAVE to have a good stick and use a guide to setup. If you are infantry you must use cover at all times and know you will die at any second.

Let me know when you play, I'll try to be on at the same times. It's fun doing sneaky stuff alone but when you have a partner in crime, there's no end to the mischief :)
