Hey guys - I was just curious about your favorite or most effective DPS /enh shaman builds, for
PVE
PVP
5-man instance
raid

I'm most interested in PVE and the 5-man, but am curious about all :)

I'm currently lvling an elemental shammy. I've heard they're not the best at dps but I'm having fun with the build. Mortz seems to think with the new patch going live today (he has a shammy so he'd probably know more than me) that elemental shammys will get a dps buff. That said I think enhancement is probably still the best dps build. So, in conclusion.....play what you have fun with! I'll tank for you regardless.

Shamans are interesting because its hard to make a bad build for a shaman in PVE.

Enhance imo is the most entertaining of the two dps specs. This is because first off I prefer melee to casting, but it also has a few nice abilities that allow you to toss in that quick spell.

As keg stated, with the new patch, elemental got entirely revamped. This is the reason shamans got refunded talent points. Overal I believe it to be a big buff.

At this point I am lead to believe neither are better or worse for pve. Overal they add to the abilities of the group.

Resto is Resto. not much else to say.

Enhancement shaman have a talent that reduces the casting time for damage and healing spells. It's an affect that stacks up to 5 as you land hits. At 5, it reduces your casting time by 100%.

This is a really nice insta-heal, comes in very handy. It's also a good reason to build a haste rating suit if you think you'll be using it a lot for certain encounters.

Combined with fast weapons, crit-attack-speed buffs, and windfury totem, a haste rating suit can pull your attack speed to under a second, tons of fun with all the crits and resulting party/raid AP buffs. It also breaths life into otherwise slower two-handed weapons which can annihilate a mob when windfury procs and your crit % is high.

This build puts a smile on the face of everyone that tries it :). Just remember to get all of your weapon skills to max. You will find weapons of every variety you're going to want to use.
