So I'm looking for some type of game that simulates either a company or a larger economy. I'm thinking about something like a SimCity or one of the train simulators or corporate simulators where you develop product lines and budget for marketing, etc. I don't have anything particular min mind, just something really GOOD in that genre. By good I don't necessarily mean accurate or highly details/number crazy, just something fun. It doesn't necessarily have to be modern as long as it will run on modern systems.

I always liked Railroad tycoon. and Sim ThemePark for fun. Cool being able to build your own coaster. And see how many you can make toss their cookies.

Both of these are cool. Very Fun.

Sim City Societies is probably my favorite. Check it out FJ, it's seem to be more of the type you would like.

In case anyone was curious what I ended up going with, I found this Buccaneer's Bounty (http://www.impulsedriven.com/products/ESD-TGN-W245) package on Impulse. It nicely covers the spectrum from detailed simulation (Patrician III), to a more action oriented trade/piracy game (Tortuga) with the half-way between both game (Port Royale 2) to round it out. I've only tried one of the tutorials in Port Royale so far, but I expect this will satisfy my needs.

The other game I was eyeing, but haven't bought yet, is The Corporate Machine (http://www.impulsedriven.com/tcm). Though, at $4.95, I don't really know what I'm waiting for.

Let me know, I really liked Tortuge and the Port Royale games.

I played about 3.5 hours of Port Royale 2 last night and really enjoyed it. At this early stage in the game it's just sailing around trying to make good money on trades in order to build up some capital and reputation/rank. I'm looking forward to owning more property and larger, more diverse fleets and setting up some trade routes. Should be fun!

Sam...that sounds like the most boring thing I've ever heard in my life. Not surprised you love it!
