I have a Hitatchi 500 GB in now. I stripped out a 2 year old Samsung 250 GB. I'm trying to install it but am having problems.

Both are SATA drives. I am trying to slave the Samsung to the Hitatchi without luck. I see the Jumper diagrams on the Samsung but don't even know what to plug into it (Other than the Sata cable, I think).

I checked out samsungs website and I saw a diagram but couldn't quite figure it out.

I've never installed a HD and am a little confused.

Thanks!

Does your Motherboard have more then one Sata connection?

I also don't think Sata drives need jumpers.

No jumpers on SATA drives, no concept of master/slave since you aren't chaining through a single cable like IDE would.

Can't answer your questions about RAID. Wouldn't it be easier to just, you know, install both drives and be done with it?
