*sigh* I've been avoiding Steam because I dislike the whole "you must be connected" thing. I see that there is an "offline" mode that you can configure. Are there any limitations with this, or other hidden BS?

Thanks for the heads up. I bought a couple for my daughter and me to play. They had the Warlord complete pack for less than $5.00 all 3 games through Warlord II.

Offline seems to work pretty well. I have not tried any multiplayer games that work over the internet in offline mode.

Love steam. Most of my games are bought on it.

I have to admit, Steam is pretty dangerous. I end up buying all sorts of things on sale or discounted that I don't need and might never play just because the prices are so good. Yesterday I saw that HAWX is only $13.something, but I'm holding off. I have so many games I've bought and never played as it is... Still trying to work through Fallout 3 (I think I'm close-ish) and I bought Dead Space last week and have been working through that (I'll post a review of that when I'm done). I was looking through some of those deals last night thinking "Oh look, 30 games for $40, that's a deal I can't pass up!" even though I already have some sub-set of those games. No, I didn't buy it, but it is really tempting.

Dangerous, I tellya.

I loves it guuuuuuud...

I just did the same...and spent another hour looking at others.

Question on Mount & Blade...should i just get warband? I notice it is a stand alone expansion.

I don't have Warband yet, only the original, but I would probably say yes, just get Warband.

So maybe if enough people get Warband we should try a little friendly battle or three?

definitely get warband. warband IS the full game + the expansion.

plus warband has better graphics updates, and runs better in general. warband is DEFINITELY the way to go for mount & blade.

Personally? I'm holding out for fallout 3 GOTY, or borderlands for SUPER CHEAP, as I'm not always able to take my 360 with me.

theres no limitations to the offline mode except you cant do multiplayer parts of the game. its a great thing to have... you open it up and all your games are there. you can even set it up so the ones you have automatically update themselves in the background. i love the whole thing.

/sigh ....

I keep getting a message that the servers are too busy to download.

I got Civ 4 - was always wanting to try it.

I might get M&M Dark Messiah too if it is still on sale.
