I dosen't feel like a 3rd of a game to me. Am I still disapointed in the lack of all three races? Yes. But then again getting all three races at once and only around 12 missions each would have been just as lame.

So I'm assuming in multiplayer you can play all three races, but this SKU only contains the Terran campaign?

That is correct sir. They found they had too much they wanted to do to have it all fit on one DVD. So they're releasing each faction on its own disc for the campaign.

Most reviews I've read(from players), say they were also worried about the single player game and the way they split it up to be sold separately for each race. They were very much happy with the game. The campaign is supposedly much larger than the original game that included all races.
The base campaign has more stuff than the entire 3 race campaign from the old game. It seems no one was cheated out of content or hours of play, they were just cheated out of being able to play all the races campaigns. Would you rather have one huge campaign for 60 bucks, or the same amount of hours of play split up into all the 3 races?
RTS's aren't my thing, so I'm not a Starcraft fanboi, never even owned the first one. Just saying, apparently the single player game is huge compared to SC1 standards, and definitely huge by todays standards that often throw in a token 7 hour campaign and count on the mplay to carry many rts and shooter titles.
Anyways, I guess I'll wait a while on this game. I play RTS's odd. I just enjoy opening up all the new tech trees, playing with the new units, Once I've seen all the units, I kinda get bored unless there is some sort of rpg lite mix in there, where doing well and keeping units alive lets them advance in special ways.

I really really like how the snuck a few protoss missions in there. It's short but fun and very very very important to the storyline. The cutsene with Kerrigan and, well I won't spoil it for anyone, but its sweet.
The story is very thick this time around. Granted its just a pretty version of the old talking heads, theres just much more to it between each mission. Also I'm very surprised at the amount of variety there are in missions. In the first game it was almost always build your base, build your army break the other guy's toys. You still have that here but theres alot of extra twists.
Theres one level where the star is very unstable and theres this Chronicles of Riddick type firewall slowly moving across the map. You have to gather what resources you can and build a force, then pick up camp and move to the next patch of minerals before the firewall gets to you, fighting protoss all along the way. You can't just build what you can at the first spot and move to the end the map because your army won't be big enough so you have to hopscotch your way. (Many Terran buildings can take off and relocate themselves.

I "ninja-ed" some guys collector's edition because he didn't pick it up from gamestop within 48 hours. "...I slide up quick to retrieve it..."
The extra goodies are perty cool imho. The art book, soundtrack, and stylized flash drive are easily worth the extra money, and would have cost more to buy separately if they were available.
Now I just need some time to actually play.

There is no pet code, as soon as the game is linked to your b-net account all your toons get the pet in the mail. I was thinking the same thing at once point. People were paying 700 bucks for the trading card that gave you the sparkly cat mount.

What are the system requirements like on this game? I have an older laptop with a dedicated 3d card (ATI Radeon 3XXX with 512mb ram and I guess an AMD dual core something or other. I can run WoW at 60fps easily enough, would this game be playable?

How much system RAM? Or is the 512 your the RAM?
You really oughtta have at -least- 1GB system ram and a GPU with 1GB on it. Even then you'll have to play with many of the eye and ear candy turned down at least a little bit.

Yep, what he said. That being said, while I understand wanting to cross-promote games, it does irk me a bit that they tossed in this WoW thing, rather than keeping it all strictly SC related. That or if they'd cross promoted with Diablo III in some way would have been cool.

It has 3 gigs of system ram and it's an ATI Radeon 2600 with 512mb ram. Is there a demo or something of the game I can check out to see if it will run decent?
